South Africa Day 9 and 10

Day 9
Port Elizabeth

On Day 9 we went to the beach in Port Elizabeth. We spent the day reading, looking for shells and people watching. It was fun to watch the kids get into the water for the first time.

The water was FREEZING!!!

After the beach we drove past the soccer stadium in Port Elizabeth for the World Cup 2010. There is construction every where in South Africa right now trying to get ready for the World Cup. I didn't realize that the World Cup is even bigger then the Olympics.
They have built a stadium in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Johannasburg.

Day 10

We woke up early and drove a couple of hours east of Port Elizabeth to Port Alfred. On the way there we stopped in the town called Kenton by the Bay. The town is right by where the river meets the ocean. On a dock by the river there were a group of boys playing. It was fun to watch the boys goofing off and doing tricks. I could just imagine Ryan and his friends doing the exact same thing. It is amazing that kids half way across the world are so much alike!!!

While driving to Port Alfred we saw some giraffes right off the side of the road.
