Natalie and I arrived in Cape Town, South Africa at 11:30 p.m. on December 1st. It was so fun to see my parents and catch up. We were wiped out from sleeping the last 12 hours on the plane so we went to the house we are staying at and went straight to sleep.
This morning we went to breakfast a few blocks from where we are staying and had a fabulous
omelete at a
restuarant on the beach.
The first prospect I found for my new African husband was our waiter. He is Zulu and his name is
Bheki, but friends and family call him "Dennis." If it doesn't work for us, Natalie is considering him for her African baby
Dadddy.

This was the view from the
restuarant. The mountain in the background is called Table Mountain. There is usually always a cloud over the top which comes down and looks like a tablecloth.

Next we went on a "Topless Bus Ride" around the city of Cape Town. Imagine Elder
Tenney's disappointment when we showed up and realized that it really was a double
decker bus with out a roof. Bummer!!!
Throughout the tour we were able to get on and off the bus at different stops. Our first stop was at Green Market Square which was like a big flea market. Here I am bartering with one of the natives. Apparently the prices here are so cheat they a practically free.

Next we stopped at Table Mountain and took the cable car up to the top. I was the only one who wanted to hike it, so I was out voted. I was so disappointed!!! The wind was blowing so hard at the top that we were the last group up before they shut the cable car down. It was freezing so we didn't stay long.

The drive around the coast was my favorite part. The water is a gorgeous green-blue and the sand is almost white. It has a
Mediterranean feel here. Not that I have been there, but I have seen lots of pictures.

So far I am having the time of my life. I haven't noticed the jet leg yet...I sure hope it is not coming!

Oh...Dennis is a hottie! You need to find a way to bring him home!
Wow, what an amazing trip to get to take. I didn't realize that your parents were on a mission. What a great place to be sent on a mission. It's beautiful.
Good luck with Dennis and enjoy the rest of your trip-hehe!!! :)
