The Happiest Place on Earth!

Years ago my parents bought a time share in Florida that they have never used. Last year Ben and Sam's family were planning on taking a family vacation to Disney and booked the condo for Fall Break. Sam's family decided to stay at a different location, which left a condo open. My parents invited my kids and I and Kathy's family to join them. My kids were so excited to go on a long awaited family vacation. We spent 6 fun-filled days running around 4 Disney Parks and 2 Universal Parks.
Universal Studios

Universal Studios just opened a huge Harry Potter park in the Spring which was by far the kids favorite part. Ryan has been reading the books and loved seeing pieces from the book brought to life. There was Honey Dukes candy store and we all loved the Butter Beer.

Disney World

There is just something about Disney that makes everything feel like Magic!!! To me, it really is the Happiest Place on Earth. The parks were all decorated for Halloween and the lines were the shortest I have ever seen. The day we spent at Magic Kingdom we practically walked onto every ride. It was so exciting to see the kids enjoying the sames rides I grew up riding.

The condo that we stayed at was amazing and had so many different activities. The weather was just perfect (almost too hot). The kids loved to play in the pool each day, just enjoying being with their cousins. Ryan and Katelyn have finally started to bond with Grandma and Grandpa and loved just spending time playing cards and enjoying the amusement parks.
The vacation was amazing! Thank you Mom and Dad for another wonderful memory!!!

BYU / Air Force Game

Ben is a huge BYU Football fan, so every time they come to Colorado it is a big deal. Ben, Nick, Anna, Ryan, Katelyn, Sam, Bryce and I all piled into the Tahoe and took a road trip down to Colorado Springs. We completely underestimated the traffic (which was a nightmare). We met Kathy and her family at a McDonalds on the way into Colorado Springs. Luckily we got there just in time to see the jets fly bye. We didn't get to our seats until the first quarter was almost over (which was the only good part of the game for BYU).

The game was a complete disaster for BYU, but we still had fun. The highlight of the game was that the kids got their picture taken with Cosmo the Cougar.

If you ask me, I think he is a kind of creepy looking mascot!!!

Do We Have a Birthday Here?

This year for Katelyn's birthday she really wanted to re-decorate her bedroom at my house. I told her that we could do that instead of a birthday party. Katelyn, being her smart, resourceful, and somewhat manipulative self decided to re-decorate at my house and have a party at dad's house.

Somehow I ended up helping out driving the kids to the party and making the cake. Katelyn wanted a soccer theme so she helped me make a cake out of cupcakes. It actually turned out really cute, if I do say so myself!!!

The girls all had a great time and Katelyn got the best of both worlds (like always).

Now I all I have to do is finish painting her bedroom!!!
Pictures to come soon :o)

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

This summer was Ryan's 4th year playing baseball with the same team. The first couple of seasons it was somewhat like watching the "BAD NEWS BEARS"!!! This year they really made some huge improvements and ended up winning first place in their division.
As a reward for winning the league the coach was able to get each player a signed baseball from their favorite Colorado Rockies player.

Ryan chose Carlos Gonzalez an outfielder on the Rockies.

Bon Voyage

About 2 1/2 years ago my parents took my grandma and I on a cruise to the Caribbean. We had such a great time that this summer they decided we needed to go on another trip. This time my cousin Diane, my Aunt Lynn and Uncle Hal, Grandma, Kathy's family, and my parents went to the Mexican Riviera (Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta).
Here is our view from our balcony.

When we got to Cabo San Lucas, we had to take a tender boat to the shore.
They even let 90 year old grandma drive the boat.

When we got there Diane and I took a glass bottom boat past the stone arches at
Land's End and then went snorkeling
On the beach I met many nice men that wanted to come home to Colorado with me.
One even told me that he cooks, cleans, and does the laundry.

Just a couple of the fine suitors.

Grandma was so excited to go to Mazatlan. The last time she was there she
had the time of her life. She was not as impressed the second time.
In Mazatlan, we spent the day at the beach relaxing and playing in the water. We played for awhile and then I went for a walk along the beach.
I wasn't even in the water and a wave came up and I got stung by a jellyfish. OUCH!!!
I wish I would have seen this warning sign before I went into the water!!!

In Puerta Vallerta we mainly just shopped and ate lunch at a delicious restaurant.

Each night after dinner Zach and Diane drank a big glass of chocolate milk.

We had a great time just playing together and relaxing!!!

The Bombs Bursting In Air

This year for the 4th of July we had a BBQ at my parents house. Right around 9:00 p.m. the clouds came over the mountains and it started to pour down rain. Many of the firework shows went on, but Highlands Ranch rescheduled their show until the next night. So, once again we met over at my parents house. They live right across the street from where Highlands Ranch lights off their fireworks so all we had to do was walk across a parking lot and we had the best seats in town.
HAPPY 4th of JULY!!!

90 and counting!!!

My Grandma Tenney is spending the summer in Colorado. She is such an inspiration to me and is SO FUNNY!!! On June 3rd she turned 90 years old. We throw a party together for her and many of her friends and family were able to make it. Those who couldn't come sent a letter and Kathy put together a book of letters for her from her loved ones. She loves this book and looks at it several times a day.
Happy Birthday Grandma!!!
