When we were growing up my parents were at every sporting event. They loved to come and watch us play sports. Basketball was always their favorite. My mom is known by all around to be the loudest in the crowd screaming...
A BASKET! A BASKET!!!
or TAKE IT AWAY!!!
Ben played basketball in high school and I was a cheerleader. My parents were at every game. From court side we would hear our mom yelling...A BASKET...A BASKET!!! All of my friends would turn to me and say "Karen, there's your mom."

Well now that my kids are playing sports my inner Marillyn has come out! To my kids embarrasment I am usually the loudest one in the crowd.

Katelyn played basketball for the first time this season on the Dolphins. The girls all have played soccer together and 4 of them are in Katelyn's class at school. Coach Chris and Coach Mike are so great with the girls. Whenever the girls are not listening or goofing off they make them run laps or drop and do 10 push ups (pretty funny to see 7 year olds trying to do push-ups). Katelyn is a natural point guard. She dribbles down the court using both hands and drives straight to the basket.

Coach Chris is also the coach of a high school girl's team. Last month the girls were able to go and be the ball girls at the high school game. During half time they scrimmaged on the court in front of the crowd. Katelyn was great. Her team won and she is proud to say that she made 2 baskets on the 10 footers!!! (They usually play on 8' baskets).

The Dolphins ended the season 8-1. Way to go, Kate!!!
